Refuting Calvinism (TULIP)

Pretty every Christian has heard of the system of Calvinism, created in the 1600's by John Calvin. This system says that salvation is completely of the Lord and you cannot choose God. It also says while some people were saved from the beginning on, others were damned from the beginning on and therefore there is no hope for them to get saved. I absolutely hate this teaching, it is ungodly. Those verses pretty show the truth.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:2

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. Revelation 22:17

Many also use Ephesians 2:1-5 to "proof" the T point of TULIP (Total Inability). However, the Bible only teaches Total Depravity, not Total Inability. Indeed you are a dead sinner before you can get saved, but if you call upon the Lord (Rom. 10:13, which I already showed), then God gives you faith and repentance from sin as a gift. By the way, I do not believe in the famous teaching of original sin, that we all were born with Adam's sin, I will talk about this in another article.

We can see that all points of TULIP (Total Inability, Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, Irresistible Grace, Perseverance of the Saints) belong together. If you reject one of them, you reject all of them. You either believe in all of them or none of them. I decided to believe in none of them. All can be refuted easily if you rightly divide the word of truth.

I heard many famous Calvinists say that they do not know whether they are among the elect or not. What a horrible way to live!

God bless you,

brother Linus
